A DEVASTATING TRAIN ACCIDENT IN BALASORE

Balasore, June 3: A tragic and devastating train accident took place near Bahanaga Bazar station in Balasore, Odisha, yesterday at around 7:00 PM. The horrific incident occurred when the Coromandel Express derailed and collided with a stationary goods train. More than 280 people lost their lives, and over 900 passengers were severely injured.
Local people immediately rushed to the spot and started rescue operations. Soon, the NDRF, police, and army personnel joined them. Gas cutters were used to cut the mangled coaches to rescue the trapped passengers. The injured were hurriedly shifted to the nearby hospitals and medical colleges for treatment. The Railway Minister visited the site and ordered a high-level inquiry into the cause of the accident. The Government has announced compensation for the families of the deceased and the injured victims.
